Born 1984 in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany. Started attending orchestral percussion and drum set classes by E. Suhrke (Bochum Symphony Orchestra) at the age of six. First performance of a cantata by J.S. Bach at the age of eight. In the following years, Philip won the 3rd prize at the German music competition Jugend Musiziert and played in various concerts across the globe including Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom, China, Russia and Turkey. Since 1996, Philip played as a drummer in a number of Indie-, HipHop-, Triphop-, Rock-, Metal-, Hardcore-, Jazz bands, Big Bands and percussion ensembles. Attended classes and workshops by: Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham, Simon Phillips, Chester Thompson, Dirk Brand, Werner Schmidt, Adam Nussbaum, Mark Schulman, Virgil Donati, Thomas Lang, Christoph Haberer, Roland Höppner, Rene Cremers, Joop van Erven, Steffen Wilmking, Hakim Ludin, Martin Verdonk, Rene Engel, Eric Albers, Danny Sahupala. Studied at the Glen Bushman Jazz Academy between 2003 and 2007. Since 2007, student at ArtEZ Conservatory, The Netherlands.
